Epistle to the Romans 3

(ⲁ̅) ⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲓⲉ ⲁϣ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲏⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲥⲉⲃⲓ (ⲁ︦) ⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ. ⲏ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲏⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲥⲃ̅ⲃⲉ. (1) What then is the advantage (lit. the more) of the Jew? or what is (the) profit of the circumcision? (1) Τί οὖν τὸ περισσὸν τοῦ Ἰουδαίου, ἢ τίς ἡ ὠφέλεια τῆς περιτομῆς;
(ⲃ̅) ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲡⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁ ⲛ̀ⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛ̀ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲙⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲧⲉⲛϩⲟⲩⲧⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ⲛⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ (ⲃ︦) ⲛⲁϣⲱⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲓⲙ. ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛϩⲟⲩⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲛ̅ϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. (2) Much it is according to every way: first indeed because they were intrusted with the words of God. (2) πολὺ κατὰ πάντα τρόπον. πρῶτον μὲν γὰρ ὅτι ἐπιστεύθησαν τὰ λόγια τοῦ θεοῦ.
(ⲅ̅) ⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲙⲏ ⲧⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲁⲕⲉⲣϥ ⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ (ⲅ︦) ⲉϣⲁⲣⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲱⲡⲉ. ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲁ ϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲣ̅ⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲉⲩⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛ̅ⲁⲕⲁⲧⲁⲣⲅⲓ ⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ (3) For what if some were unbelieving? Will their unbelief do away with the faith of God? (3) τί γάρ; εἰ ἠπίστησάν τινες, μὴ ἡ ἀπιστία αὐτῶν τὴν πίστιν τοῦ θεοῦ καταργήσει;
(ⲇ̅) ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲫϯ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛ̀ⲣⲉϥϫⲉⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛ̀ⲣⲉϥϫⲉⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲟⲡⲱⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲕⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕϭⲣⲟ ⲉⲩⲛⲁϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲕ (ⲇ︦) ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ: ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲉ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲉ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲟⲗ. ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ϫⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲉⲕⲉⲧⲙⲁⲓⲟ ϩⲛ̅ ⲛⲉⲕϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲅ̅ϫⲣⲟ ϩⲙ̅ ⲡⲧⲣⲉⲕϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ: (4) It shall not be. But let God be speaking truth, and every man speaking falsehood; according as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words and overcome when thou wilt be judged. (4) μὴ γένοιτο· γινέσθω δὲ ὁ θεὸς ἀληθής, πᾶς δὲ ἄνθρωπος ψεύστης, καθὼς γέγραπται· Ὅπως ἂν δικαιωθῇς ἐν τοῖς λόγοις σου καὶ νικήσεις ἐν τῷ κρίνεσθαί σε.
(ⲉ̅) ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲙⲉⲧϭⲓⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲁϩⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧⲥ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϫⲟϥ ⲙⲏ ⲟⲩⲣⲉϥϭⲓⲛ̀ϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲫϯ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲓⲛⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥϫⲱⲛⲧ ⲁⲓϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲫⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲣⲱⲙⲓ (ⲉ︦) ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲓ ⲛ̅ϭⲟⲛⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲩⲛϩⲓⲥⲧⲁ ⲛ̅ⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϫⲟⲟⲩϥ. ⲙⲏ ⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲇⲓⲕⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲟⲣⲅⲏ ⲉϫⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲣⲱⲙⲉ (5) If our wrongdoing will set up the righteousness of God, what shall (lit. will) we say? Is God a wrongdoer being about to bring his anger? I said this humanly. (5) εἰ δὲ ἡ ἀδικία ἡμῶν θεοῦ δικαιοσύνην συνίστησιν, τί ἐροῦμεν; μὴ ἄδικος ὁ θεὸς ὁ ἐπιφέρων τὴν ὀργήν; κατὰ ἄνθρωπον λέγω.
(ⲋ̅) ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲫϯ ⲛⲁϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ (ⲋ︦) ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ. ⲉⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲁϣ ⲛ̅ϩⲉ. (6) It shall not be: otherwise how will God judge the world? (6) μὴ γένοιτο· ἐπεὶ πῶς κρινεῖ ὁ θεὸς τὸν κόσμον;
(ⲍ̅) ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲁⲥⲉⲣϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉϥⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲁⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲓⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲥⲉϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲓ ϩⲱ ⲙ̀ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ (ⲍ︦) ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲙⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲣ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲁϭⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲉⲟⲟⲩ. ⲁϩⲣⲟⲓ ϭⲉ ⲥⲉⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲓ ϩⲱⲥ ⲣⲉϥⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲃⲉ. (7) But if the truth of God abounded unto his glory in my falsehood, then why am I also judged as a sinner, (7) εἰ δὲ ἡ ἀλήθεια τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν τῷ ἐμῷ ψεύσματι ἐπερίσσευσεν εἰς τὴν δόξαν αὐτοῦ, τί ἔτι κἀγὼ ὡς ἁμαρτωλὸς κρίνομαι,
(ⲏ̅) ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲩϫⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ⲙ̀ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ϣⲁⲛϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛⲓⲣⲓ ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲥⲉⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉⲩ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲁⲡ ⲭⲏ ϧⲁ ⲡϩⲁⲡ (ⲏ︦) ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲩϫⲓⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉ ϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ϣⲁⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲛ̅ⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲧⲁϩⲟⲛ. ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲩⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲩϩⲁⲡ. (8) and not according as we are blasphemed, as some say of us, that we say: Let us do evil things, that good things may come to us?' whose condemnation (lit. judgement) is decided (lit. under (the) judgement). (8) καὶ μὴ καθὼς βλασφημούμεθα καὶ καθώς φασίν τινες ἡμᾶς λέγειν ὅτι Ποιήσωμεν τὰ κακὰ ἵνα ἔλθῃ τὰ ἀγαθά; ὧν τὸ κρίμα ἔνδικόν ἐστιν.
(ⲑ̅) ⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲁⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛ̀ϫⲉⲙ ⲁⲣⲓⲕⲓ ⲉ̀ⲛⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲉⲓⲛⲓⲛ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲭⲏ ϧⲁ ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ (ⲑ︦) ⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲟ ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ. ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲛ. ϫⲓⲛ ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛϭⲛ̅ⲁⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲉⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲉⲛⲓⲛ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉϩⲁⲡ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ. (9) What then? Have we more? Not at all: we before found blame with the Jews and the Greeks, that they are all under (the) sin; (9) Τί οὖν; προεχόμεθα; οὐ πάντως, προῃτιασάμεθα γὰρ Ἰουδαίους τε καὶ Ἕλληνας πάντας ὑφʼ ἁμαρτίαν εἶναι,
(ⲓ̅) ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϫⲉ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ (ⲓ︦) ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ. ⲙⲛ̅ ⲟⲩⲁ (10) according as it is written: There is not a solitary righteous one; (10) καθὼς γέγραπται ὅτι Οὐκ ἔστιν δίκαιος οὐδὲ εἷς,
(ⲓ̅ⲁ̅) ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲕⲁϯ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲛ̀ⲥⲁ ⲫϯ (ⲓ︦ⲁ︦) ⲙⲛ̅ ⲣⲙ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. (11) there is not he who understandeth; there is not he who seeketh after God. (11) οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ συνίων, οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ ἐκζητῶν τὸν θεόν·
(ⲓ̅ⲃ̅) ⲁⲩⲣⲓⲕⲓ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲁⲧϣⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲓⲣⲓ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲭⲣⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ϣⲁ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲁⲓ (ⲓ︦ⲃ︦) ⲁⲩⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲣ̅ⲁⲧϣⲁⲩ ϩⲓⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ. ⲙⲛ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲭⲣⲏⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲟⲩⲁ. (12) They all turned aside, they became unprofitable together; there is not he who doeth [a] kindness; there is not even (lit. up to) one: (12) πάντες ἐξέκλιναν, ἅμα ἠχρεώθησαν· οὐκ ἔστιν ποιῶν χρηστότητα, οὐκ ἔστιν ἕως ἑνός.
(ⲓ̅ⲅ̅) ⲟⲩⲙϩⲁⲩ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲏⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲟⲩϣⲃⲱⲃⲓ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲭⲣⲟϥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲟⲩⲗⲁⲥ ⲟⲩⲙⲁⲑⲟⲩⲓ ⲛ̀ϩⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ϧⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲫⲟⲧⲟⲩ (ⲓ︦ⲅ︦) ⲟⲩⲁⲧⲫⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲏⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲩϣⲟⲩⲱⲃⲉ. ⲁⲩⲣ̅ⲕⲣⲟϥ ϩⲛ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲗⲁⲥ. ⲟⲩⲙⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϩⲟϥ ⲧⲉⲧϩⲁⲛⲉⲩⲥⲡⲟⲧⲟⲩ. (13) an open sepulchre is their throat; they practised deceit with (lit. from) their tongue; a serpent poison is under their lips: (13) τάφος ἀνεῳγμένος ὁ λάρυγξ αὐτῶν, ταῖς γλώσσαις αὐτῶν ἐδολιοῦσαν, ἰὸς ἀσπίδων ὑπὸ τὰ χείλη αὐτῶν,
(ⲓ̅ⲇ̅) ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲉϩ ⲛ̀ⲥⲁϩⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ϣⲁϣⲓ (ⲓ︦ⲇ︦) ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲉⲩⲧⲁⲡⲣⲟ ⲙⲉϩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϩⲟⲩ ϩⲓ ⲥⲓϣⲉ. (14) these whose mouths are full of cursing and bitterness; (14) ὧν τὸ στόμα ἀρᾶς καὶ πικρίας γέμει·
(ⲓ̅ⲉ̅) ⲥⲉⲓⲏⲥ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⲉ̀ⲫⲉⲛ ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ (ⲓ︦ⲉ︦) ⲛⲉⲩⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲉⲡⲛ̅ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ. (15) their feet hasten to shed blood; (15) ὀξεῖς οἱ πόδες αὐτῶν ἐκχέαι αἷμα,
(ⲓ̅ⲋ̅) ⲡϧⲟⲙϧⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲧⲁⲗⲉⲡⲱⲣⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ϩⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲱⲓⲧ (ⲓ︦ⲋ︦) ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲱϣϥ̅ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲗⲁⲓⲡⲱⲣⲓⲁ ⲛⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲛ̅ ⲛⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ. (16) (the) crushing and (the) misery are in their ways; (16) σύντριμμα καὶ ταλαιπωρία ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν,
(ⲓ̅ⲍ̅) ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ϯϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ (ⲓ︦ⲍ︦) ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲛ̅ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛⲥ̅. (17) and they knew not (the) way of [the] peace; (17) καὶ ὁδὸν εἰρήνης οὐκ ἔγνωσαν.
(ⲓ̅ⲏ̅) ϯϩⲟϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲭⲏ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲙ̀ⲑⲟ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ (ⲓ︦ⲏ︦) ⲛ̅ⲑⲟ ⲧⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲙ̅ⲧⲟ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ: (18) the fear of God is not before their eyes.' (18) οὐκ ἔστιν φόβος θεοῦ ἀπέναντι τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν.
(ⲓ̅ⲑ̅) ⲧⲉⲛⲉⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲣⲱϥ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲑⲱⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁ ⲡⲓϩⲁⲡ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ (ⲓ︦ⲑ︦) ⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧϩⲙ̅ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲁⲡⲣⲟ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲧⲱⲙ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲉ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ̅ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲁⲛϩⲁⲡ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. (19) But we know that all things which the law saith, it said them to those who are in the law; that the mouth of every one may be stopped, and all the world may be under the judgement of God. (19) Οἴδαμεν δὲ ὅτι ὅσα ὁ νόμος λέγει τοῖς ἐν τῷ νόμῳ λαλεῖ, ἵνα πᾶν στόμα φραγῇ καὶ ὑπόδικος γένηται πᾶς ὁ κόσμος τῷ θεῷ·
(ⲕ̅) ϫⲉ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲗⲓ ⲛ̀ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲁⲙⲁⲓ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁ ⲡⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲓ (ⲕ︦) ϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲁⲧⲙⲁⲉⲓⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥⲙ̅ⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲛⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ. (20) Because from the works of the law no flesh will be justified with God: through the law became (the) knowing (the) sin. (20) διότι ἐξ ἔργων νόμου οὐ δικαιωθήσεται πᾶσα σὰρξ ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ, διὰ γὰρ νόμου ἐπίγνωσις ἁμαρτίας.
(ⲕ̅ⲁ̅) ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲧϭⲛⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲁⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ϧⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ (ⲕ︦ⲁ︦) ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁϫⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁ ⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩⲣ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ. (21) But now without the law the righteousness of God was manifested, being witnessed through the law and the prophets; (21) Νυνὶ δὲ χωρὶς νόμου δικαιοσύνη θεοῦ πεφανέρωται, μαρτυρουμένη ὑπὸ τοῦ νόμου καὶ τῶν προφητῶν,
(ⲕ̅ⲃ̅) ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ϯⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛ̀ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲟⲡ (ⲕ︦ⲃ︦) ⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ. ⲙⲛ̅ ⲡⲱⲣϫ̅ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲟⲟⲡ (22) but the righteousness of God which is through (the) faith of Jesus Christ in every one who believeth. For there is no distinction made; (22) δικαιοσύνη δὲ θεοῦ διὰ πίστεως Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, εἰς πάντας τοὺς πιστεύοντας, οὐ γάρ ἐστιν διαστολή.
(ⲕ̅ⲅ̅) ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲉϣⲁⲧ ⲙ̀ⲡⲱⲟⲩ ⲙ̀ⲫϯ (ⲕ︦ⲅ︦) ⲁⲩⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲉϣⲁⲁⲧ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. (23) all sinned and a they fall short of (the) glory of God; (23) πάντες γὰρ ἥμαρτον καὶ ὑστεροῦνται τῆς δόξης τοῦ θεοῦ,
(ⲕ̅ⲇ̅) ⲉⲩⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϫⲓⲛϫⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲥⲱϯ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ (ⲕ︦ⲇ︦) ⲉⲩⲧⲙⲁⲉⲓⲟ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϫⲓⲛϫⲏ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲉϥⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅. (24) being justified freely in his grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; (24) δικαιούμενοι δωρεὰν τῇ αὐτοῦ χάριτι διὰ τῆς ἀπολυτρώσεως τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ·
(ⲕ̅ⲉ̅) ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛ̀ⲭⲁϥ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲫϯ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲣⲉϥⲭⲱ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛ̀ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉ̀ⲫⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲭⲱ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲓϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ (ⲕ︦ⲉ︦) ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲕⲁⲁϥ ϫⲓⲛ ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ⲛ̅ⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥⲥⲛⲟϥ. ⲉⲡⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ. ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ (25) whom God before set as a forgiver, through (the) faith, in his blood, unto (the) manifesting of his righteousness, because of (the) forgiving of the former sins which were committed, (25) ὃν προέθετο ὁ θεὸς ἱλαστήριον διὰ πίστεως ἐν τῷ αὐτοῦ αἵματι εἰς ἔνδειξιν τῆς δικαιοσύνης αὐτοῦ διὰ τὴν πάρεσιν τῶν προγεγονότων ἁμαρτημάτων
(ⲕ̅ⲋ̅) ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ϩⲏⲧ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲉ̀ⲑⲣⲉⲥϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉϥⲟⲓ ⲛ̀ⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛ̀ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ (ⲕ︦ⲋ︦) ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲁⲛⲟⲭⲏ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. ⲉⲡⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ϩⲙ̅ ⲡⲉⲉⲓⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲧⲙⲁⲉⲓⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅: (26) in the longsuffering of God. To cause his righteousness to be revealed at this present time: that he might be just and justifying the (man who is) of (lit. from) faith in Jesus Christ. (26) ἐν τῇ ἀνοχῇ τοῦ θεοῦ, πρὸς τὴν ἔνδειξιν τῆς δικαιοσύνης αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ νῦν καιρῷ, εἰς τὸ εἶναι αὐτὸν δίκαιον καὶ δικαιοῦντα τὸν ἐκ πίστεως Ἰησοῦ.
(ⲕ̅ⲍ̅) ⲁϥⲑⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲓϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲙⲁϣⲑⲁⲙ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱϥ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲁϣ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲫⲁ ⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ (ⲕ︦ⲍ︦) ⲉϥⲧⲱⲛ ϭⲉ ⲡϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϣⲧⲁⲙ ⲉⲣⲱϥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ ⲁϣ ⲛ̅ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ. ⲡⲁ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ. ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲛ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅. (27) Where then was the boasting? It was excluded. By what law? That of [the] works? Nay; but through (the) law of (the) faith. (27) Ποῦ οὖν ἡ καύχησις; ἐξεκλείσθη. διὰ ποίου νόμου; τῶν ἔργων; οὐχί, ἀλλὰ διὰ νόμου πίστεως.
(ⲕ̅ⲏ̅) ⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉⲡ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲙⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲁⲧϭⲛⲉ ⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ (ⲕ︦ⲏ︦) ⲧⲛ̅ϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲙⲁⲉⲓⲟ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ: (28) For we shall (lit. will) reckon a man that he will be justified in (the) faith without the works of the law. (28) λογιζόμεθα γὰρ δικαιοῦσθαι πίστει ἄνθρωπον χωρὶς ἔργων νόμου.
(ⲕ̅ⲑ̅) ϣⲁⲛ ⲫϯ ⲫⲁ ⲛⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲁ ⲛⲓⲕⲉⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁϩⲁ ⲫⲁ ⲛⲓⲕⲉⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ (ⲕ︦ⲑ︦) ⲏ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲁ ⲛ̅ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲁ ⲛ̅ⲕⲉϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ. ⲉϩⲉ ⲡⲁ ⲛ̅ⲕⲉϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ. (29) Or is God of the Jews only, and not of the Gentiles indeed (pr.) also? Yea, he is of the Gentiles also. (29) ἢ Ἰουδαίων ὁ θεὸς μόνον; οὐχὶ καὶ ἐθνῶν; ναὶ καὶ ἐθνῶν,
(ⲗ̅) ⲓⲥϫⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲫϯ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲑⲙⲁⲓⲉ ⲡⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ (ⲗ︦) ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲧⲙⲁⲓⲉ ⲡⲥⲃ̅ⲃⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃ̅ⲃⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ. (30) If then God is one, he who will justify (the) circumcision from (the) faith and the uncircumcision through the faith; (30) εἴπερ εἷς ὁ θεός, ὃς δικαιώσει περιτομὴν ἐκ πίστεως καὶ ἀκροβυστίαν διὰ τῆς πίστεως.
(ⲗ̅ⲁ̅) ⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲕⲉⲣϥ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲧⲁϩⲟ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ (ⲗ︦ⲁ︦) ⲉⲛⲛⲁⲕⲁⲧⲁⲣⲅⲉⲓ ϭⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲛⲛⲁⲥⲩⲛϩⲓⲥⲧⲁ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ. (31) shall (lit. will) we then make useless the law through the faith? It shall not be. But we shall (lit. will) set up the law. (31) νόμον οὖν καταργοῦμεν διὰ τῆς πίστεως; μὴ γένοιτο, ἀλλὰ νόμον ἱστάνομεν.
