| (ⲋ̅) ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩⲥⲩⲛⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲁⲛ | (ⲋ︦) ⲡⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ. ⲛ̅ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲁⲛ: | (6) But this I say according to a concession, not according to commandment. | (6) τοῦτο δὲ λέγω κατὰ συγγνώμην, οὐ κατʼ ἐπιταγήν. |
| (ⲍ̅) ϯⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲣⲏϯ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲉϥ ⲟⲩϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲕⲉⲣⲏϯ | (ⲍ︦) ϯⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁϩⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲟⲩⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥⲙⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. ⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲉⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁⲓ. ⲕⲉⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ. | (7) But I wish that every man should be like me, but each one has a grace from God; the one indeed in this manner, but another in this other manner. | (7) θέλω δὲ πάντας ἀνθρώπους εἶναι ὡς καὶ ἐμαυτόν· ἀλλὰ ἕκαστος ἴδιον ἔχει χάρισμα ἐκ θεοῦ, ὁ μὲν οὕτως, ὁ δὲ οὕτως. |

| (ⲑ̅) ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣ̀ⲉⲣⲉⲅⲕⲣⲁⲧⲉⲩⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϭⲓ ⲛⲁⲛⲉⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉ̀ϭⲓ ⲉ̀ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲛ̀ⲥⲉϭⲓⲭⲣⲱⲙ | (ⲑ︦) ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲥⲉⲛⲁⲉⲅⲕⲣⲁⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϫⲓ. ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩ ϫⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲣⲱⲕϩ̅. | (9) But if they will not be able to contain, let them marry: for it is better (lit. good) to marry than to burn (lit. take fire). | (9) εἰ δὲ οὐκ ἐγκρατεύονται, γαμησάτωσαν, κρεῖττον γάρ ἐστιν γαμῆσαι ἢ πυροῦσθαι. |

| (ⲓ̅ⲁ̅) ⲕⲁⲛ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲥϣⲁⲛⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲥⲟϩⲓ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲉϣⲉⲛ ϭⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲥϩⲱⲧⲡ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓϩⲁⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉϥϣ̀ⲧⲉⲙⲭⲁ ϯⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ | (ⲓ︦ⲁ︦) ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲥϣⲁⲛⲡⲱⲣϫ̅ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲥϭⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ. ⲏ ⲛⲥ̅ϩⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲧⲣⲉϥⲕⲱ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ: | (11) though, if she should be separated, let her stay without marrying; otherwise let her be reconciled to her husband; and the husband, that he should not put the wife (away). | (11) ἐὰν δὲ καὶ χωρισθῇ, μενέτω ἄγαμος ἢ τῷ ἀνδρὶ καταλλαγήτω—καὶ ἄνδρα γυναῖκα μὴ ἀφιέναι. |
| (ⲓ̅ⲃ̅) ⲡⲥⲉⲡⲓ ⲇⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ⲡϭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲛ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲉϥ ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲛ̀ⲁⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲑⲁⲓ ⲉⲥϯⲙⲁϯ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲛⲑⲣⲉϥⲭⲁⲥ ⲛ̀ⲥⲱϥ | (ⲓ︦ⲃ︦) ϯϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲛ ⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉϭⲱ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁϥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲧⲣⲉϥⲗⲟ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ. | (12) But to (the) rest say I (pron.), not the Lord: If there is a brother who hath an unbelieving wife, and this (wife) consent to dwell with him, let him not leave her. | (12) Τοῖς δὲ λοιποῖς λέγω ἐγώ, οὐχ ὁ κύριος· εἴ τις ἀδελφὸς γυναῖκα ἔχει ἄπιστον, καὶ αὕτη συνευδοκεῖ οἰκεῖν μετʼ αὐτοῦ, μὴ ἀφιέτω αὐτήν· |

| (ⲕ̅ⲏ̅) ⲕⲁⲛ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲕϣⲁⲛϭⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲥϣⲁⲛϭⲓ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ϯⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲩⲉ̀ϭⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϯϯⲁⲥⲟ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ | (ⲕ︦ⲏ︦) ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲕϣⲁⲛϫⲓ ⲙ̅ⲡⲕ̅ⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲃⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲥϣⲁⲛϫⲓ ⲛ̅ϭⲓ ⲧⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲥ̅ⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲃⲉ. ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲉⲓⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲉⲡ ⲑⲗⲓⲯⲓⲥ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲉⲩⲥⲁⲣⲝ̅. ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϯϯⲥⲟ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ̅: | (28) If, however, thou shouldst marry, thou sinnedst not. And if the virgin should marry, she sinneth not. | (ⲗ̅ⲃ̅) ϯⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⲛ̀ⲁⲧⲣⲱⲟⲩϣ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥϭⲓ ⲁϥϥⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩϣ ϧⲁ ⲛⲁ ⲡϭ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲡⲱⲥ ϥⲛⲁⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲙ̀ⲡϭ̅ⲥ̅ | (ⲗ︦ⲃ︦) ϯⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲧⲛ̅ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲁⲧⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ. ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛ̅ⲧϥ̅ ⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϥϥⲓⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲉⲛⲁ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲁⲣⲉⲥⲕⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲁϣ ⲛ̅ϩⲉ. | (32) But I wish you to be (lit. being) without care. He who married not was careful for the things of the Lord, how he will please the Lord: | (32) Θέλω δὲ ὑμᾶς ἀμερίμνους εἶναι. ὁ ἄγαμος μεριμνᾷ τὰ τοῦ κυρίου, πῶς ἀρέσῃ τῷ κυρίῳ· |

| (ⲗ̅ⲇ̅) ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϥⲫⲏϣ ϯⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲥϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲥϭⲓ ⲁⲥϥⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩϣ ϧⲁ ⲛⲁ ⲡϭ̅ⲥ̅ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲡⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲑⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲥϭⲓ ⲁⲥϥⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩϣ ϧⲁ ⲛⲁ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲥⲛⲁⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ | (ⲗ︦ⲇ︦) ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲡⲏϣ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲥ̅ ϩⲁⲓ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲧⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ϥⲓⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲉⲛⲁ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ϩⲙ̅ ⲡⲉⲥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲡⲉⲥⲡⲛ̅ⲁ̅. ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥϫⲓϩⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ϥⲓⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲉⲛⲁ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲁϣ ⲛ̅ϩⲉ ⲉⲥⲛⲁⲁⲣⲉⲥⲕⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ. | (34) and he is divided. The wife who married not and the virgin. | (ⲗ̅ⲋ̅) ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲉ̀ϭⲓϣⲓⲡⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡ ⲁϥϣⲁⲛⲉⲣⲁⲕⲙⲏ ⲛ̀ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲉϩⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲁⲓϥ ⲛ̀ϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϭⲓ | (ⲗ︦ⲋ︦) ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ̅ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϥϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲉϫⲛ̅ ⲧⲉϥϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ. ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲥⲣ̅ⲛⲟϭ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧϣ̅ϣⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ. ⲡⲉⲧϥ̅ⲟⲩⲁϣϥ̅ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲁⲁϥ ⲛϥ̅ⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲁⲛ. ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϫⲓ. | (36) But if there is one (who) thinks to receive shame about his virgin; if he should have passed the marriageable prime, and this is that which ought to be, let him do his will, he sinneth not; let them marry. | (36) Εἰ δέ τις ἀσχημονεῖν ἐπὶ τὴν παρθένον αὐτοῦ νομίζει ἐὰν ᾖ ὑπέρακμος, καὶ οὕτως ὀφείλει γίνεσθαι, ὃ θέλει ποιείτω· οὐχ ἁμαρτάνει· γαμείτωσαν. |
| (ⲗ̅ⲍ̅) ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲟϩⲓ ⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲉϥⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ ⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲏ ⲧⲟⲓ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲉϥ ⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉϩⲛⲁϥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲓⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲁⲓ ϥϯϩⲁⲡ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲓⲛ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲉ̀ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉ̀ⲧⲉϥⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ϥⲛⲁⲁⲓⲥ | (ⲗ︦ⲍ︦) ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲁϩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ̅ ϩⲙ̅ ⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲉϥⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ⲉⲙⲛ̅ϩⲧⲟⲣ ⲉⲣⲟϥ. ⲟⲩⲛ̅ⲧϥ̅ ⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲓⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ϩⲙ̅ ⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲉϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲧⲉϥϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ϥⲛⲁⲁⲁⲥ. | (37) But he who standeth in his heart confirmed, no necessity affecting a him, having authority concerning his own will, and this very thing he judgeth in his heart, to keep his virgin, he will do well. | (37) ὃς δὲ ἕστηκεν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἑδραῖος μὴ ἔχων ἀνάγκην, ἐξουσίαν δὲ ἔχει περὶ τοῦ ἰδίου θελήματος, καὶ τοῦτο κέκρικεν ἐν τῇ ἰδίᾳ καρδίᾳ, τηρεῖν τὴν ἑαυτοῦ παρθένον, καλῶς ποιήσει· |

| (ⲗ̅ⲑ̅) ϯⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲥⲟⲛϩ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲉⲫⲟⲥⲟⲛ ⲭⲣⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲉϥⲟⲛϧ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϣⲁⲛⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲣⲉⲙϩⲏ ⲧⲉ ⲉϭⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲧⲉϩⲛⲁⲥ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡϭ̅ⲥ̅ | (ⲗ︦ⲑ︦) ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲙⲏⲣ ⲉⲡϩⲟⲥⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲟⲛϩ. ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲟⲩ. ⲟⲩⲣⲙ̅ϩⲏ ⲧⲉ ⲉϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲉϩⲛⲁⲥ. ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲙ̅ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ | (39) The wife is bound unto her husband for so long time as he liveth; but if her husband should have slept, she is (a) free to marry according to her will, only in the Lord. | (39) Γυνὴ δέδεται ἐφʼ ὅσον χρόνον ζῇ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς· ἐὰν δὲ κοιμηθῇ ὁ ἀνήρ, ἐλευθέρα ἐστὶν ᾧ θέλει γαμηθῆναι, μόνον ἐν κυρίῳ· |
| (ⲙ̅) ⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲁⲥϣⲁⲛⲟϩⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲧⲁⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ ϯⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲛ̀ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ϧⲏⲧ | (ⲙ︦) ⲛⲁⲓⲁⲧⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲥϣⲁⲛϭⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲧⲁⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ. ϯϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲱ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲡⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ: | (40) But more blessed is she if she should stay thus, according to my opinion: but I think also that there is a spirit of God in me. | (40) μακαριωτέρα δέ ἐστιν ἐὰν οὕτως μείνῃ, κατὰ τὴν ἐμὴν γνώμην, δοκῶ δὲ κἀγὼ πνεῦμα θεοῦ ἔχειν. |
