First Kings 2

(ⲁ̅) ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϧⲱⲛⲧ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ ⲉ̀ⲑⲣⲉϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϩⲟⲛϩⲉⲛ ⲉ̀ⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲛ̀ⲥⲟⲗⲟⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ	(1) And the days of David drew near that he should die: and he addressed his son Solomon, saying, I go the way of all the earth:	(1) Καὶ ἤγγισαν αἱ ἡµέραι Δαυιδ ἀποθανεῖν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐνετείλατο τῷ Σαλωµων υἱῷ αὐτοῦ λέγων
(ⲃ̅) ϫⲉ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ϯⲛⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲏⲓ ϩⲓ ⲫⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲙ̀ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲕⲉ̀ϣ̀ϫⲉⲙϫⲟⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲕⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲩϫⲱⲣⲓ	(2) but be thou strong, and shew thyself a man;	(2) Ἐγώ εἰµι πορεύοµαι ἐν ὁδῷ πάσης τῆς γῆς· καὶ ἰσχύσεις καὶ ἔσῃ εἰς ἄνδρα
(ⲅ̅) ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲕⲉ̀ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉ̀ϯϫⲓⲛⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡϭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉ̀ⲑⲣⲉⲕⲙⲟϣⲓ ϩⲓ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲉ̀ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉ̀ⲛⲉϥⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉϥϩⲁⲡ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲓ ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲩ̀ⲥⲏⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲁϯ ⲉ̀ⲛⲏ ⲉⲕⲛⲁⲁⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉ̀ϯⲛⲁϩⲉⲛϩⲱⲛⲕ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ	(3) and keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep the commandments and the ordinances and the judgments which are written in the law of Moses; that thou mayest understand what thou shalt do in all things that I command thee:	(3) καὶ φυλάξεις τὴν φυλακὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ δικαιώµατα καὶ τὰ κρίµατα τὰ γεγραµµένα ἐν νόµῳ Μωυσέως, ἵνα συνίῃς ἃ ποιήσεις κατὰ πάντα, ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωµαί σοι,
(ⲇ̅) ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲡϭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲥⲉⲙⲛⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉ̀ϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲣⲉϣⲁⲛ ⲛⲉⲕϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲉ̀ⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲙ̀ⲑⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲟⲩⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩϥⲉⲧ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲑⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲥ̅ⲗ̅	(4) that the Lord may confirm his word which he spoke, saying, If thy children shall take heed to their way to walk before me in truth with all their heart, I promise thee, saying, there shall not fail thee a man on the throne of Israel.	(4) ἵνα στήσῃ κύριος τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ, ὃν ἐλάλησεν λέγων Ἐὰν φυλάξωσιν οἱ υἱοί σου τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτῶν πορεύεσθαι ἐνώπιον ἐµοῦ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ψυχῇ αὐτῶν, λέγων Οὐκ ἐξολεθρευθήσεταί σοι ἀνὴρ ἐπάνωθεν θρόνου Ισραηλ.
(ⲉ̅)	(5) Moreover thou knowest all that Joab the son of Saruia did to me, what he did to the two captains of the forces of Israel, to Abenner the son of Ner, and to Amessai the son of Jether, that he slew them, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put innocent blood on his girdle that was about his loins, and on his sandal that was on his foot.	(5) καί γε σὺ ἔγνως ὅσα ἐποίησέν µοι Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουιας, ὅσα ἐποίησεν τοῖς δυσὶν ἄρχουσιν τῶν δυνάµεων Ισραηλ, τῷ Αβεννηρ υἱῷ Νηρ καὶ τῷ Αµεσσαϊ υἱῷ Ιεθερ, καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔταξεν τὰ αἵµατα πολέµου ἐν εἰρήνῃ καὶ ἔδωκεν αἷµα ἀθῷον ἐν τῇ ζώνῃ αὐτοῦ τῇ ἐν τῇ ὀσφύι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῷ ὑποδήµατι αὐτοῦ τῷ ἐν τῷ ποδὶ αὐτοῦ·
(ⲋ̅)	(6) Therefore thou shalt deal with him according to thy wisdom, and thou shalt not bring down his grey hairs in peace to the grave.	(6) καὶ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὴν σοφίαν σου καὶ οὐ κατάξεις τὴν πολιὰν αὐτοῦ ἐν εἰρήνῃ εἰς ᾅδου.
(ⲍ̅)	(7) But thou shalt deal kindly with the sons of Berzelli the Galaadite, and they shall be among those that eat at thy table; for thus they drew nigh to me when I fled from the face of thy brother Abessalom.	(7) καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Βερζελλι τοῦ Γαλααδίτου ποιήσεις ἔλεος, καὶ ἔσονται ἐν τοῖς ἐσθίουσιν τὴν τράπεζάν σου, ὅτι οὕτως ἤγγισάν µοι ἐν τῷ µε ἀποδιδράσκειν ἀπὸ προσώπου Αβεσσαλωµ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου.
(ⲏ̅)	(8) And, behold, there is with thee Semei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Baurim: and he cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went into the camp; and he came down to Jordan to meet me, and I swore to him by the Lord, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.	(8) καὶ ἰδοὺ µετὰ σοῦ Σεµεϊ υἱὸς Γηρα υἱὸς τοῦ Ιεµενι ἐκ Βαουριµ, καὶ αὐτὸς κατηράσατό µε κατάραν ὀδυνηρὰν τῇ ἡµέρᾳ, ᾗ ἐπορευόµην εἰς Παρεµβολάς, καὶ αὐτὸς κατέβη εἰς ἀπαντήν µου εἰς τὸν Ιορδάνην, καὶ ὤµοσα αὐτῷ ἐν κυρίῳ λέγων Εἰ θανατώσω σε ἐν ῥοµφαίᾳ·
(ⲑ̅)	(9) But thou shalt by no means hold him guiltless, for thou art a wise man, and wilt know what thou shalt do to him, and shalt bring down his grey hairs with blood to the grave.	(9) καὶ οὐ µὴ ἀθῳώσῃς αὐτόν, ὅτι ἀνὴρ σοφὸς εἶ σὺ καὶ γνώσῃ ἃ ποιήσεις αὐτῷ, καὶ κατάξεις τὴν πολιὰν αὐτοῦ ἐν αἵµατι εἰς ᾅδου.
(ⲓ̅) ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉϥⲓⲟϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲥϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲛ̀ⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ	(10) And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.	(10) καὶ ἐκοιµήθη Δαυιδ µετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ.
(ⲓ̅ⲁ̅)	(11) And the days which David reigned over Israel were forty years; he reigned seven years in Chebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.	(11) καὶ αἱ ἡµέραι, ἃς ἐβασίλευσεν Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ, τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη· ἐν Χεβρων ἐβασίλευσεν ἔτη ἑπτὰ καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαληµ τριάκοντα τρία ἔτη.
(ⲓ̅ⲃ̅)	(12) And Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was established greatly.	(12) Καὶ Σαλωµων ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ υἱὸς ἐτῶν δώδεκα, καὶ ἡτοιµάσθη ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ σφόδρα.
(ⲓ̅ⲅ̅)	(13) And Adonias the son of Aggith came in to Bersabee the mother of Solomon, and did obeisance to her: and she said, Dost thou enter peaceably? and he said, Peaceably:	(13) καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Αδωνιας υἱὸς Αγγιθ πρὸς Βηρσαβεε µητέρα Σαλωµων καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτῇ. ἡ δὲ εἶπεν Εἰρήνη ἡ εἴσοδός σου; καὶ εἶπεν Εἰρήνη·
(ⲓ̅ⲇ̅)	(14) I have business with thee. And she said to him, Say on.	(14) λόγος µοι πρὸς σέ. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Λάλησον.
(ⲓ̅ⲉ̅)	(15) And he said to her, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and all Israel turned their face toward me for a king; but the kingdom was turned from me and became my brother’s: for it was appointed to him from the Lord.	(15) καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Σὺ οἶδας ὅτι ἐµοὶ ἦν ἡ βασιλεία καὶ ἐπ’ ἐµὲ ἔθετο πᾶς Ισραηλ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ εἰς βασιλέα, καὶ ἐστράφη ἡ βασιλεία καὶ ἐγενήθη τῷ ἀδελφῷ µου, ὅτι παρὰ κυρίου ἐγένετο αὐτῷ·
(ⲓ̅ⲋ̅)	(16) And now I make one request of thee, do not turn away thy face. And Bersabee said to him, Speak on.	(16) καὶ νῦν αἴτησιν µίαν ἐγὼ αἰτοῦµαι παρὰ σοῦ, µὴ ἀποστρέψῃς τὸ πρόσωπόν σου. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Βηρσαβεε Λάλει.
(ⲓ̅ⲍ̅)	(17) And he said to her, Speak, I pray thee, to king Solomon, for he will not turn away his face from thee, and let him give me Abisag the Somanite for a wife.	(17) καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Εἰπὸν δὴ πρὸς Σαλωµων τὸν βασιλέα — ὅτι οὐκ ἀποστρέψει τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ σοῦ — καὶ δώσει µοι τὴν Αβισακ τὴν Σωµανῖτιν εἰς γυναῖκα.
(ⲓ̅ⲏ̅)	(18) And Bersabee said, Well; I will speak for thee to the king.	(18) καὶ εἶπεν Βηρσαβεε Καλῶς· ἐγὼ λαλήσω περὶ σοῦ τῷ βασιλεῖ.
(ⲓ̅ⲑ̅)	(19) And Bersabee went in to king Solomon to speak to him concerning Adonias; and the king rose up to meet her, and kissed her, and sat on the throne, and a throne was set for the mother of the king, and she sat on his right hand.	(19) καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Βηρσαβεε πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Σαλωµων λαλῆσαι αὐτῷ περὶ Αδωνιου. καὶ ἐξανέστη ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτῇ καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐτέθη θρόνος τῇ µητρὶ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ.
(ⲕ̅)	(20) And she said to him, I ask of thee one little request; turn not away my face from thee. And the king said to her, Ask, my mother, and I will not reject thee.	(20) καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Αἴτησιν µίαν µικρὰν ἐγὼ αἰτοῦµαι παρὰ σοῦ, µὴ ἀποστρέψῃς τὸ πρόσωπόν σου. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ὁ βασιλεύς Αἴτησαι, µῆτερ ἐµή, ὅτι οὐκ ἀποστρέψω σε.
(ⲕ̅ⲁ̅)	(21) And she said, Let, I pray thee, Abisag the Somanite be given to Adonias thy brother to wife.	(21) καὶ εἶπεν Δοθήτω δὲ Αβισακ ἡ Σωµανῖτις τῷ Αδωνια τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου εἰς γυναῖκα.
(ⲕ̅ⲃ̅)	(22) And king Solomon answered and said to his mother, And why hast thou asked Abisag for Adonias? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother, and he has for his companion Abiathar the priest, and Joab the son of Saruia the commander-in-chief.	(22) καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Σαλωµων ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ εἶπεν τῇ µητρὶ αὐτοῦ Καὶ ἵνα τί σὺ ᾔτησαι τὴν Αβισακ τῷ Αδωνια; καὶ αἴτησαι αὐτῷ τὴν βασιλείαν, ὅτι οὗτος ἀδελφός µου ὁ µέγας ὑπὲρ ἐµέ, καὶ αὐτῷ Αβιαθαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ αὐτῷ Ιωαβ ὁ υἱὸς Σαρουιας ὁ ἀρχιστράτηγος ἑταῖρος.
(ⲕ̅ⲅ̅)	(23) And king Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if it be not that Adonias has spoken this word against his own life.	(23) καὶ ὤµοσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωµων κατὰ τοῦ κυρίου λέγων Τάδε ποιήσαι µοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τάδε προσθείη, ὅτι κατὰ τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ ἐλάλησεν Αδωνιας τὸν λόγον τοῦτον·
(ⲕ̅ⲇ̅)	(24) And now as the Lord lives who has established me, and set me on the throne of my father David, and he has made me a house, as the Lord spoke, this day shall Adonias be put to death.	(24) καὶ νῦν ζῇ κύριος, ὃς ἡτοίµασέν µε καὶ ἔθετό µε ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρός µου καὶ αὐτὸς ἐποίησέν µοι οἶκον, καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος, ὅτι σήµερον θανατωθήσεται Αδωνιας.
(ⲕ̅ⲉ̅)	(25) So king Solomon sent by the hand of Banaeas the son of Jodae, and he slew him, and Adonias died in that day.	(25) καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Σαλωµων ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν χειρὶ Βαναιου υἱοῦ Ιωδαε καὶ ἀνεῖλεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αδωνιας ἐν τῇ ἡµέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ.
(ⲕ̅ⲋ̅)	(26) And the king said to Abiathar the priest, Depart thou quickly to Anathoth to thy farm, for thou art worthy of death this day; but I will not slay thee, because thou hast borne the ark of the covenant of the Lord before my father, and because thou was afflicted in all things wherein my father was afflicted.	(26) Καὶ τῷ Αβιαθαρ τῷ ἱερεῖ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεύς Ἀπότρεχε σὺ εἰς Αναθωθ εἰς ἀγρόν σου, ὅτι ἀνὴρ θανάτου εἶ σὺ ἐν τῇ ἡµέρᾳ ταύτῃ, καὶ οὐ θανατώσω σε, ὅτι ἦρας τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου ἐνώπιον τοῦ πατρός µου, καὶ ὅτι ἐκακουχήθης ἐν ἅπασιν, οἷς ἐκακουχήθη ὁ πατήρ µου.
(ⲕ̅ⲍ̅)	(27) And Solomon removed Abiathar from being a priest of the Lord, that the word of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he spoke concerning the house of Heli in Selom.	(27) καὶ ἐξέβαλεν Σαλωµων τὸν Αβιαθαρ τοῦ µὴ εἶναι ἱερέα τοῦ κυρίου, πληρωθῆναι τὸ ῥῆµα κυρίου, ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ηλι ἐν Σηλωµ. —
(ⲕ̅ⲏ̅)	(28) And the report came to Joab son of Saruia; for Joab had turned after Adonias, and he went not after Solomon: and Joab fled to the tabernacle of the Lord, and caught hold of the horns of the altar.	(28) καὶ ἡ ἀκοὴ ἦλθεν ἕως Ιωαβ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σαρουιας (ὅτι Ιωαβ ἦν κεκλικὼς ὀπίσω Αδωνιου, καὶ ὀπίσω Σαλωµων οὐκ ἔκλινεν), καὶ ἔφυγεν Ιωαβ εἰς τὸ σκήνωµα τοῦ κυρίου καὶ κατέσχεν τῶν κεράτων τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου.
(ⲕ̅ⲑ̅)	(29) And it was told Solomon, saying, Joab has fled to the tabernacle of the Lord, and lo! he has hold of the horns of the altar. And king Solomon sent to Joab, saying, What ails thee, that thou hast fled to the altar? and Joab said, Because I was afraid of thee, and fled for refuge to the Lord. And Solomon sent Banaeas son of Jodae, saying, Go and slay him, and bury him.	(29) καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τῷ Σαλωµων λέγοντες ὅτι Ἔφυγεν Ιωαβ εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ κυρίου καὶ ἰδοὺ κατέχει τῶν κεράτων τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου. καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Σαλωµων πρὸς Ιωαβ λέγων Τί γέγονέν σοι, ὅτι πέφευγας εἰς τὸ θυσιαστήριον; καὶ εἶπεν Ιωαβ Ὅτι ἐφοβήθην ἀπὸ προσώπου σου, καὶ ἔφυγον πρὸς κύριον. καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Σαλωµων ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸν Βαναιου υἱὸν Ιωδαε λέγων Πορεύου καὶ ἄνελε αὐτὸν καὶ θάψον αὐτόν.
(ⲗ̅)	(30) And Banaeas son of Jodae came to Joab to the tabernacle of the Lord, and said to him, Thus says the king, Come forth. And Joab said, I will not come forth, for I will die here. And Banaeas son of Jodae returned and spoke to the king, saying, Thus has Joab spoken, and thus has he answered me.	(30) καὶ ἦλθεν Βαναιου υἱὸς Ιωδαε πρὸς Ιωαβ εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Τάδε λέγει ὁ βασιλεύς Ἔξελθε. καὶ εἶπεν Ιωαβ Οὐκ ἐκπορεύοµαι, ὅτι ὧδε ἀποθανοῦµαι. καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Βαναιας υἱὸς Ιωδαε καὶ εἶπεν τῷ βασιλεῖ λέγων Τάδε λελάληκεν Ιωαβ καὶ τάδε ἀποκέκριταί µοι.
(ⲗ̅ⲁ̅)	(31) And the king said to him, Go, and do to him as he has spoken, and kill him: and thou shalt bury him, and thou shalt remove this day the blood which he shed without cause, from me and from the house of my father.	(31) καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ βασιλεύς Πορεύου καὶ ποίησον αὐτῷ καθὼς εἴρηκεν, καὶ ἄνελε αὐτὸν καὶ θάψεις αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξαρεῖς σήµερον τὸ αἷµα, ὃ δωρεὰν ἐξέχεεν Ιωαβ, ἀπ’ ἐµοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός µου·
(ⲗ̅ⲃ̅)	(32) And the Lord has returned upon his own head the blood of his unrighteousness, inasmuch as he attacked two men more righteous and better than himself, and slew them with the sword, and my father David knew not of their blood, even Abenner the son of Ner the commander-in-chief of Israel, and Amessa the son of Jether the commander-in-chief of Juda.	(32) καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν κύριος τὸ αἷµα τῆς ἀδικίας αὐτοῦ εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ, ὡς ἀπήντησεν τοῖς δυσὶν ἀνθρώποις τοῖς δικαίοις καὶ ἀγαθοῖς ὑπὲρ αὐτὸν καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτοὺς ἐν ῥοµφαίᾳ, καὶ ὁ πατήρ µου Δαυιδ οὐκ ἔγνω τὸ αἷµα αὐτῶν, τὸν Αβεννηρ υἱὸν Νηρ ἀρχιστράτηγον Ισραηλ καὶ τὸν Αµεσσα υἱὸν Ιεθερ ἀρχιστράτηγον Ιουδα·
(ⲗ̅ⲅ̅)	(33) And their blood is returned upon his head, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but to David, and his seed, and his house, and his throne, may there be peace for ever from the Lord.	(33) καὶ ἐπεστράφη τὰ αἵµατα αὐτῶν εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰς κεφαλὴν τοῦ σπέρµατος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, καὶ τῷ Δαυιδ καὶ τῷ σπέρµατι αὐτοῦ καὶ τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ τῷ θρόνῳ αὐτοῦ γένοιτο εἰρήνη ἕως αἰῶνος παρὰ κυρίου.
(ⲗ̅ⲇ̅)	(34) So Banaeas son of Jodae went up, and attacked him, and slew him, and buried him in his house in the wilderness.	(34) καὶ ἀπήντησεν Βαναιου υἱὸς Ιωδαε τῷ Ιωαβ καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἔθαψεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ ἐρήµῳ.—
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅)	(35) And the king appointed Banaeas son of Jodae in his place over the host; and the kingdom was established in Jerusalem; and as for Sadoc the priest, the king appointed him to be high priest in the room of Abiathar.	(35) καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸν Βαναιου υἱὸν Ιωδαε ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν στρατηγίαν· καὶ ἡ βασιλεία κατωρθοῦτο ἐν Ιερουσαληµ· καὶ τὸν Σαδωκ τὸν ἱερέα ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς ἱερέα πρῶτον ἀντὶ Αβιαθαρ.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅a)	And Solomon son of David reigned over Israel and Juda in Jerusalem: and the Lord gave understanding to Solomon, and very much wisdom, and largeness of heart, as the sand by the sea-shore.	(35a) Καὶ ἔδωκεν κύριος φρόνησιν τῷ Σαλωµων καὶ σοφίαν πολλὴν σφόδρα καὶ πλάτος καρδίας ὡς ἡ ἄµµος ἡ παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν,
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅b)	And the wisdom of Solomon abounded exceedingly beyond the wisdom of all the ancients, and beyond all the wise men of Egypt:	(35b) καὶ ἐπληθύνθη ἡ φρόνησις Σαλωµων σφόδρα ὑπὲρ τὴν φρόνησιν πάντων ἀρχαίων υἱῶν καὶ ὑπὲρ πάντας φρονίµους Αἰγύπτου.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅c)	and he took the daughter of Pharao, and brought her into the city of David, until he had finished building his own house, and the house of the Lord first, and the wall of Jerusalem round about. In seven years he made and finished them.	(35c) καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν θυγατέρα Φαραω καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὴν πόλιν Δαυιδ ἕως συντελέσαι αὐτὸν τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν οἶκον κυρίου ἐν πρώτοις καὶ τὸ τεῖχος Ιερουσαληµ κυκλόθεν· ἐν ἑπτὰ ἔτεσιν ἐποίησεν καὶ συνετέλεσεν.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅d)	And Solomon had seventy thousand bearers of burdens, and eight thousand hewers of stone in the mountain:	(35d) καὶ ἦν τῷ Σαλωµων ἑβδοµήκοντα χιλιάδες αἴροντες ἄρσιν καὶ ὀγδοήκοντα χιλιάδες λατόµων ἐν τῷ ὄρει.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅e)	and Solomon made the sea, and the bases, and the great lavers, and the pillars, and the fountain of the court, and the brazen sea-	(35e) καὶ ἐποίησεν Σαλωµων τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ τὰ ὑποστηρίγµατα καὶ τοὺς λουτῆρας τοὺς µεγάλους καὶ τοὺς στύλους καὶ τὴν κρήνην τῆς αὐλῆς καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν χαλκῆν.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅f)	and he built the citadel as a defence above it, he made a breach in the wall of the city of David: thus the daughter of Pharao went up out of the city of David to her house which he built for her.	(35f) καὶ ᾠκοδόµησεν τὴν ἄκραν καὶ τὰς ἐπάλξεις αὐτῆς καὶ διέκοψεν τὴν πόλιν Δαυιδ· οὕτως θυγάτηρ Φαραω ἀνέβαινεν ἐκ τῆς πόλεως Δαυιδ εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτῆς, ὃν ᾠκοδόµησεν αὐτῇ· τότε ᾠκοδόµησεν τὴν ἄκραν.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅g)	Then he built the citadel: and Solomon offered up three whole-burnt-offerings in the year, and peace-offerings on the altar which he built to the Lord, and he burnt incense before the Lord, and finished the house.	(35g) καὶ Σαλωµων ἀνέφερεν τρεῖς ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ ὁλοκαυτώσεις καὶ εἰρηνικὰς ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον, ὃ ᾠκοδόµησεν τῷ κυρίῳ, καὶ ἐθυµία ἐνώπιον κυρίου. καὶ συνετέλεσεν τὸν οἶκον.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅h)	And these are the chief persons who presided over the works of Solomon; three thousand and six hundred masters of the people that wrought the works.	(35h) καὶ οὗτοι οἱ ἄρχοντες οἱ καθεσταµένοι ἐπὶ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ Σαλωµων· τρεῖς χιλιάδες καὶ ἑξακόσιοι ἐπιστάται τοῦ λαοῦ τῶν ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅i)	And he burit Assur, and Magdo, and Gazer, and upper Baethoron, and Ballath:	(35i) καὶ ᾠκοδόµησεν τὴν Ασσουρ καὶ τὴν Μαγδω καὶ τὴν Γαζερ καὶ τὴν Βαιθωρων τὴν ἐπάνω καὶ τὰ Βααλαθ·
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅k)	only after he had built the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about, afterwards he built these cities.	(35k) πλὴν µετὰ τὸ οἰκοδοµῆσαι αὐτὸν τὸν οἶκον τοῦ κυρίου καὶ τὸ τεῖχος Ιερουσαληµ κύκλῳ, µετὰ ταῦτα ᾠκοδόµησεν τὰς πόλεις ταύτας.
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅l)	And when David was yet living, he charged Solomon, saying, Behold, there is with thee Semei the son of Gera, of the seed of Benjamin out of Chebron:	(35l) Καὶ ἐν τῷ ἔτι Δαυιδ ζῆν ἐνετείλατο τῷ Σαλωµων λέγων Ἰδοὺ µετὰ σοῦ Σεµεϊ υἱὸς Γηρα υἱὸς σπέρµατος τοῦ Ιεµινι ἐκ Χεβρων·
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅m)	he cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went into the camp;	(35m) οὗτος κατηράσατό µε κατάραν ὀδυνηρὰν ἐν ᾗ ἡµέρᾳ ἐπορευόµην εἰς Παρεµβολάς,
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅n)	and he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I swore to him by the Lord, saying, He shall not be slain with the sword.	(35n) καὶ αὐτὸς κατέβαινεν εἰς ἀπαντήν µοι ἐπὶ τὸν Ιορδάνην, καὶ ὤµοσα αὐτῷ κατὰ τοῦ κυρίου λέγων Εἰ θανατωθήσεται ἐν ῥοµφαίᾳ·
(ⲗ̅ⲉ̅o)	But now do not thou hold him guiltless, for thou art a man of understanding, and thou wilt know what thou shalt do to him, and thou shalt bring down his grey hairs with blood to the grave.	(35o) καὶ νῦν µὴ ἀθῳώσῃς αὐτόν, ὅτι ἀνὴρ φρόνιµος σὺ καὶ γνώσῃ ἃ ποιήσεις αὐτῷ, καὶ κατάξεις τὴν πολιὰν αὐτοῦ ἐν αἵµατι εἰς ᾅδου.
(ⲗ̅ⲋ̅)	(36) And the king called Semei, and said to him, Build thee a house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and thou shalt not go out thence any whither.	(36) καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸν Σεµεϊ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Οἰκοδόµησον σεαυτῷ οἶκον ἐν Ιερουσαληµ καὶ κάθου ἐκεῖ καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύσῃ ἐκεῖθεν οὐδαµοῦ·
(ⲗ̅ⲍ̅)	(37) And it shall come to pass in the day that thou shalt go forth and cross over the brook Kedron, know assuredly that thou shalt certainly die: thy blood shall be upon thine head. And the king caused him to swear in that day.	(37) καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡµέρᾳ τῆς ἐξόδου σου καὶ διαβήσῃ τὸν χειµάρρουν Κεδρων, γινώσκων γνώσῃ ὅτι θανάτῳ ἀποθανῇ, τὸ αἷµά σου ἔσται ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλήν σου. καὶ ὥρκισεν αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν τῇ ἡµέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ.
(ⲗ̅ⲏ̅)	(38) And Semei said to the king, Good is the word that thou hast spoken, my lord O king: thus will thy servant do. And Semei dwelt in Jerusalem three years.	(38) καὶ εἶπεν Σεµεϊ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ἀγαθὸν τὸ ῥῆµα, ὃ ἐλάλησας, κύριέ µου βασιλεῦ· οὕτω ποιήσει ὁ δοῦλός σου. καὶ ἐκάθισεν Σεµεϊ ἐν Ιερουσαληµ τρία ἔτη.
(ⲗ̅ⲑ̅)	(39) And it came to pass after the three years, that two servants of Semei ran away to Anchus son of Maacha king of Geth: and it was told Semei, saying, Behold, thy servants are in Geth.	(39) καὶ ἐγενήθη µετὰ τρία ἔτη καὶ ἀπέδρασαν δύο δοῦλοι τοῦ Σεµεϊ πρὸς Αγχους υἱὸν Μααχα βασιλέα Γεθ, καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τῷ Σεµεϊ λέγοντες Ἰδοὺ οἱ δοῦλοί σου ἐν Γεθ·
(ⲙ̅)	(40) And Semei rose up, and saddled his ass, and went to Geth to Anchus to seek out his servants: and Semei went, and brought his servants out of Geth.	(40) καὶ ἀνέστη Σεµεϊ καὶ ἐπέσαξε τὴν ὄνον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Γεθ πρὸς Αγχους τοῦ ἐκζητῆσαι τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπορεύθη Σεµεϊ καὶ ἤγαγεν τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ ἐκ Γεθ.
(ⲙ̅ⲁ̅)	(41) And it was told Solomon, saying, Semei is gone out of Jerusalem to Geth, and has brought back his servants.	(41) καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τῷ Σαλωµων λέγοντες ὅτι Ἐπορεύθη Σεµεϊ ἐξ Ιερουσαληµ εἰς Γεθ καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ.
(ⲙ̅ⲃ̅)	(42) And the king sent and called Semei, and said to him, Did I not adjure thee by the Lord, and testify to thee, saying, In whatsoever day thou shalt go out of Jerusalem, and go to the right or left, know certainly that thou shalt assuredly die?	(42) καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν Σεµεϊ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν Οὐχὶ ὥρκισά σε κατὰ τοῦ κυρίου καὶ ἐπεµαρτυράµην σοι λέγων Ἐν ᾗ ἂν ἡµέρᾳ ἐξέλθῃς ἐξ Ιερουσαληµ καὶ πορευθῇς εἰς δεξιὰ ἢ εἰς ἀριστερά, γινώσκων γνώσῃ ὅτι θανάτῳ ἀποθανῇ;
(ⲙ̅ⲅ̅)	(43) And why hast thou not kept the oath of the Lord, and the commandment which I commanded thee?	(43) καὶ τί ὅτι οὐκ ἐφύλαξας τὸν ὅρκον κυρίου καὶ τὴν ἐντολήν, ἣν ἐνετειλάµην κατὰ σοῦ;
(ⲙ̅ⲇ̅)	(44) And the king said to Semei, Thou knowest all thy mischief which thy heart knows, which thou didst to David my father: and the Lord has recompensed thy mischief on thine own head.	(44) καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Σεµεϊ Σὺ οἶδας πᾶσαν τὴν κακίαν σου, ἣν ἔγνω ἡ καρδία σου, ἃ ἐποίησας τῷ Δαυιδ τῷ πατρί µου, καὶ ἀνταπέδωκεν κύριος τὴν κακίαν σου εἰς κεφαλήν σου·
(ⲙ̅ⲉ̅)	(45) And king Solomon is blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the Lord for ever.	(45) καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωµων ηὐλογηµένος, καὶ ὁ θρόνος Δαυιδ ἔσται ἕτοιµος ἐνώπιον κυρίου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅)	(46) And Solomon commanded Banaeas the son of Jodae, and he went forth and slew him.	(46) καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωµων τῷ Βαναια υἱῷ Ιωδαε, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἀνεῖλεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἀπέθανεν.
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅a)	And king Solomon was very prudent and wise: and Juda and Israel were very many, as the sand which is by the sea for multitude, eating, and drinking, and rejoicing:	(46a) Καὶ ἦν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωµων φρόνιµος σφόδρα καὶ σοφός, καὶ Ιουδα καὶ Ισραηλ πολλοὶ σφόδρα ὡς ἡ ἄµµος ἡ ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης εἰς πλῆθος, ἐσθίοντες καὶ πίνοντες καὶ χαίροντες·
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅b)	and Solomon was chief in all the kingdoms, and they brought gifts, and served Solomon all the days of his life.	(46b) καὶ Σαλωµων ἦν ἄρχων ἐν πάσαις ταῖς βασιλείαις, καὶ ἦσαν προσφέροντες δῶρα καὶ ἐδούλευον τῷ Σαλωµων πάσας τὰς ἡµέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ.
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅c)	And Solomon began to open the domains of Libanus,	(46c) καὶ Σαλωµων ἤρξατο διανοίγειν τὰ δυναστεύµατα τοῦ Λιβάνου,
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅d)	and he built Thermae in the wilderness.	(46d) καὶ αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόµησεν τὴν Θερµαι ἐν τῇ ἐρήµῳ.
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅e)	And this was the daily provision of Solomon, thirty measures of fine flour, and sixty measures of ground meal, ten choice calves, and twenty oxen from the pastures, and a hundred sheep, besides stags, and does, and choice fed birds.	(46e) καὶ τοῦτο τὸ ἄριστον τῷ Σαλωµων· τριάκοντα κόροι σεµιδάλεως καὶ ἑξήκοντα κόροι ἀλεύρου κεκοπανισµένου, δέκα µόσχοι ἐκλεκτοὶ καὶ εἴκοσι βόες νοµάδες καὶ ἑκατὸν πρόβατα ἐκτὸς ἐλάφων καὶ δορκάδων καὶ ὀρνίθων ἐκλεκτῶν νοµάδων.
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅f)	For he ruled in all the country on this side the river, from Raphi unto Gaza, over all the kings on this side the river:	(46f) ὅτι ἦν ἄρχων ἐν παντὶ πέραν τοῦ ποταµοῦ ἀπὸ Ραφι ἕως Γάζης, ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν πέραν τοῦ ποταµοῦ·
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅g)	and he was at peace on all sides round about; and Juda and Israel dwelt safely, every one under his vine and under his fig tree, eating and drinand feasting, from Dan even to Bersabee, all the days of Solomon.	(46g) καὶ ἦν αὐτῷ εἰρήνη ἐκ πάντων τῶν µερῶν αὐτοῦ κυκλόθεν, καὶ κατῴκει Ιουδα καὶ Ισραηλ πεποιθότες, ἕκαστος ὑπὸ τὴν ἄµπελον αὐτοῦ καὶ ὑπὸ τὴν συκῆν αὐτοῦ, ἐσθίοντες καὶ πίνοντες, ἀπὸ Δαν καὶ ἕως Βηρσαβεε πάσας τὰς ἡµέρας Σαλωµων. —
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅h)	And these were the princes of Solomon; Azariu son of Sadoc the priest, and Orniu son of Nathan chief of the officers, and he went to his house; and Suba the scribe, and Basa son of Achithalam recorder, and Abi son of Joab commander-in-chief, and Achire son of Edrai was over the levies, and Banaeas son of Jodae over the household and over the brickwork, and Cachur the son of Nathan was counsellor.	(46h) καὶ οὗτοι οἱ ἄρχοντες τοῦ Σαλωµων· Αζαριον υἱὸς Σαδωκ τοῦ ἱερέως καὶ Ορνιου υἱὸς Ναθαν ἄρχων τῶν ἐφεστηκότων καὶ Εδραµ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ καὶ Σουβα γραµµατεὺς καὶ Βασα υἱὸς Αχιθαλαµ ἀναµιµνῄσκων καὶ Αβι υἱὸς Ιωαβ ἀρχιστράτηγος καὶ Αχιρε υἱὸς Εδραϊ ἐπὶ τὰς ἄρσεις καὶ Βαναια υἱὸς Ιωδαε ἐπὶ τῆς αὐλαρχίας καὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ πλινθείου καὶ Ζαχουρ υἱὸς Ναθαν ὁ σύµβουλος. —
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅i)	And Solomon had forty thousand brood mares for his chariots, and twelve thousand horses.	(46i) καὶ ἦσαν τῷ Σαλωµων τεσσαράκοντα χιλιάδες τοκάδες ἵπποι εἰς ἅρµατα καὶ δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἱππέων.
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅k)	And he reigned over all the kings from the river and to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt:	(46k) καὶ ἦν ἄρχων ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν ἀπὸ τοῦ ποταµοῦ καὶ ἕως γῆς ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἕως ὁρίων Αἰγύπτου.
(ⲙ̅ⲋ̅l)	so Solomon the son of David reigned over Israel and Juda in Jerusalem.	(46l) Σαλωµων υἱὸς Δαυιδ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα ἐν Ιερουσαληµ.
